Welcome to our new website!

Welcome to our updated website.  We’ve designed it to be more interactive, easy to navigate and more intuitive.  We hope you’ll find it both informative and useful.  It’s not just a source of information on the Wichita Aero Club, it’s also a way for you to communicate with us.

I’m hoping it will stimulate more interest and provide us with a broader perspective on the local aviation industry and community by expanding the number of people, sources and contributors who take advantage of the new, more versatile format of our online presence.

This section of the new website will provide WAC board members, committee chairs, past and future presenters…and you with a chance to make special announcements, offer insights or opinions or pose questions or ideas for future WAC events via a video blog or V-blog.  It’s like the medium Mike Baxter (played by Tim Allen) uses to promote Outdoor Man products—and his offbeat slant on current events—on the television show LAST MAN STANDING!

Anyway, this new site comes at a fortuitous time. We’re celebrating our tenth year of meeting almost every month to address the industry’s issues, challenges, successes, regulatory and governmental priorities and have a good time of networking and expanding our horizons, too. Since we held our first luncheon on December 8, 2008 with Teal Group Vice President Richard Aboulafia, we’ve heard from well over 100 presenters ranging from the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Ray LaHood, to three Kansas governors—Parkinson, Brownback and Colyer—to the CEOs of major aviation manufacturers and suppliers, trade associations, and customers to celebrities and legendary pilots. We’ve touched on the history of the Air Capital and awarded our annual trophy to those who have made it. We’ve covered topics from the inner workings of accident investigations to details of flight in outer space…and we’ve had a great time doing it.

I hope you’ll add visits to this website to your regular routine and that it will continue to be a source of information, interaction, communication and pride in the Air Capital of the World.

Thanks for being a part of the Wichita Aero Club!
